( For Residential & Marine IR..............scroll down )
Infrared Thermography (or, IR Scanning) is a fundamental component of any conscientious predictive maintenance (PdM) program. As such, it is recommended and/or required by Codes & Standards, Insurance Carriers, Inspectors, Fire Depts and OEMs more than any other PdM technique. The value of conducting periodic IR Scans has been proven time after time based upon early detection of mechanical, electrical, building envelope and process system anomalies.
What we will inspect:
electrical distribution systems / devices
mechanical equipment / rotating machinery
roofing systems / building envelope
steam traps / systems
radiant heating systems
Inspection features:
inspection by a Certified Infrared Thermographer
use of state-of-the-art thermographic equipment
analysis and professional report of findings
nondestructive evaluation (NDE)
Benefits:
early detection of impending failures
detection of electrical load imbalances
cost savings through planned corrective action
fire and loss prevention / personnel safety
locates areas of energy loss in the building envelope
locates moisture in roofing systems
it is a non-destructive test method
Residential
Insulation Void
Plumbing Leak
Moisture Infiltration
Powerserve Inc. offers Residential Infrared Scans geared toward assessing energy / temperature losses in homes during these tough economic times. By identifying areas of losses, homeowners will have the necessary information to make significant energy-efficient changes to their home's outer "envelope". Our Infrared Scans can also detect the presence of moisture infiltration which can lead to serious mold growth and other interior and exterior damage. We will also work with home inspection services to assist during the home assessment process in order to "round-out" their evaluations.
Infrared scanning of homes can pinpoint areas of heat gain and loss that were impossible to find using other obsolete methods. Now, the energy efficiency of the home envelope and interaction with the air conditioning and heating equipment can be assessed with greater clarity. System leaks can occur over time. Overly aggressive "duct cleaning" can often cause dislodging / separating of ductwork in a home causing significant losses.
What we will inspect:
building envelope construction and insulation
windows and doors
HVAC supply and return ductwork systems
radiant heating systems
Inspection features:
inspection by a Certified Infrared Thermographer
use of state-of-the-art thermographic equipment
analysis and professional report of findings
nondestructive evaluation (NDE)
Benefits:
detects temperature loss/gain through walls, windows, doors
detects HVAC loss/gain through ductwork leaks or insulation voids
detects moisture and mold - interior and exterior
report of findings complete with digital and IR images
