ISOLATED POWER AND....

ANESTHESIOLOGISTS

General Remarks

Like the Surgeon, the Anesthesiologist is required to remain alert to many procedures and activities within the OR.  He relies very heavily on his immediate Surgical Team for support inside the OR and on all "behind the scenes" support teams who keep his world in order on a routine basis.  This includes the support of those who maintain the physical environment, the supply of instruments and equipment for procedures and the reliability of the medical gas system and the Essential Electric System (EES).

IPS Pertinent Info

They must have at least a basic understanding of Isolated Power and what the various alarms and indications mean and how to react to them.  They rely on the support of the BioMed or Engineering teams to support them in urgent situations.  As with Surgeons, it might not be a bad idea for the Anesthesiologist to depress the LIM test button to check its' alarm function prior to each procedure.  See Isolated Power.

From new systems to old, POWERSERVE is the most active provider of diverse Isolated Power System services in the country.
