COMMISSIONING: NEW INSTALLATION / NEW CONSTRUCTION CERTIFICATION

NFPA 99: Section 3 requires thorough inspection and performance testing of Isolated Power Systems after installation and prior to being placed into service.  This inspection and testing must be conducted by field service professionals trained and equipped to do so.

POWERSERVE works with distributors, installing electrical contractors, consulting engineering firms, and project managers to ensure proper Isolated Power System installation and pre-energization checkout.

Included in this service is:

thorough inspection of IPS panel installation methods
thorough inspection of branch circuit wiring methods, wire type, color coding
circuit breaker exercising
inspection of circuit identification cards
ground network inspection: ground wire size, routing, terminations, power grounds, patient grounds, metal surfaces
ground network testing for impedance and voltage differentials
system voltage measurements
Line Isolation Monitor (LIM) operation and calibration
remote alarm/annunciator operation
special interlocking and control circuit operation
LIM full fault testing
leakage current and system impedance measurements
hospital personnel orientation on Isolated Power Systems
