IPS REPAIR & RETROFIT SERVICES
Ground Detector: Before Retrofit LIM: After Retrofit Older systems may experience breakdowns or "performance deviations" from their original design tolerances. Some technologies have become obsolete and are no longer candidates for repair or recalibration. Grounding systems may develop high impedance connections inside the Operating Room or within the Isolated Power panel. Ground Detectors and Line Isolation Monitors may completely fail to operate under actual fault conditions. These devices are constantly energized and see every voltage sag and surge that occurs: day-after-day and year-after-year. For these and other reasons, many in this industry consider the life expectancy of these solid-state devices (LIMs) to be around (10) years - for units of solid design. There are various LIM makes and models still in use that have not had a very good "track record" in terms of reliability or longevity and which have failed in far less than (10) years. Many of these units are still in service and their failures have gone undetected. POWERSERVE offers a variety of repair services and retrofit services for obsolete units for which repair parts are no longer available. Many hospitals still using Ground Detectors wish to upgrade to Line Isolation Monitors (LIMs) because of the superior protection they provide for patients. Following are some of the repair and retrofit services offered:
